New and only on Bormax® 2.0: Interrupted circumference cutters with cooling fins

The Bormax® 2.0 has following advantages:

  1. New centre point with twisted geometry (reduces the feed forces)
  2. Chip breaking grooves on the main cutters (faster and easier drilling)
  3. Interrupted circumference cutters with cooling fins (less heat development)

Today we provide some more information about the new and ingenious circumference cutters of the Bormax® 2.0.

The Forstner bit is the ideal bit for hands free use, because it’s closed circumference cutters provide an excellent bit guidance. The longer the circumference cutters, the better the guidance.

This advantage of a regular Forstner bit is also its biggest disadvantage because long circumference cutters mean more contact surface to the wood. This fraction causes more heat development. The result is a faster abrasion of the Forstner bit or even a “burn”. For that reason you also shouldn’t use a traditional Forstner drill in hard wood.

The Bormax® 2.0 is different!

That’s the reason why we designed grooves in the Bormax®‘s circumference cutters when it was invented.

This way the contacts were reduced on the front surface and circumference cutters. On each segment we cut the front surface to the tooth. This reduced the friction a lot without changing the excellent guidance characteristics. The ideal bit for hand use – also in materials which a regular Forstner bit can’t drill, like European hardwood, chipboards and MDF boards.

Now new and only on Bormax® 2.0 we added cooling fins to the geometry of the circumference cutters. This means again less fraction, which means also less heat development. You’ll have less wear and a longer durability.

Try it for yourself! The Bormax® is not the only tool which has this geometry. We also copied these advantages to the countersinks for Auger bits (1411), Bormax® 2.0 WS prima long (1614), Bormax® 2.0 WS long (1623) and Pilot guided Bormax® 2.0 (1624)!

A little DELTA F causing a great effect!

With this we want to distinguish from our competitors. To be a little better, to create a difference, to form a DELTA; to be DELTA F!
