In practice, it often happens that professional have to make blind holes with a larger bore diameter in exactly the same drill hole depth. For larger holes in the free hand use are the Forstner bits ideal. Through the good guide characteristics of this Bit is a perfect drilling in soft wood possible.
With this background we have arranged a set in which you can find the most common Forstner bits in diameters 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35mm in a high-quality wooden box. This set is complemented by a rotationally supported Depth adjuster which is specifically made for our Forstner Bit and Bormax (in the execution of Alloyed Tool steel Bormax and also TCT-Bormax³).
In general, the depth stop is mounted on the drill stalk of the Forstner drill bit and adjust the drilling depth. So it is possible to drill blind holes always exactly in the same depth. Due to the ball bearing from the cage of the stop, there are no marks on the machined workpiece.

Why FAMAG Forstner drill?

The American author Roland Johnson put for some time ago 18 Forstner Bits of the world's leading professional manufacturers under the microscope. Here, the drill diameter was examined exactly, the bore diameter of the workpiece but also how well slides the chips in the processing from the drill. Besides the quality of the hole, the author determined the temperature of the Forstner bit after a number of 100 holes.

Even if the new FAMAG Depth adjuster has not won a prize, but he convinces through its technical details. It is made of impact resistant ABS plastic and has a variety of guide bushings, which we made from steel. These guides bushings can be according to the diameter of the stalk of the Forstner drill bit mounted in the depth adjuster. The bushings are rotatably supported by ball-bearings and thus produce no disturbing marks on the workspiece surface. For larger depths, it is possible to mount the guide bushing in reverse form. So you reach a larger adjustment of the depth stop on the stalk of the Forstner drill. |
