Depth adjusting collar for shell drill countersink
When the heads of countersunk head screws shall be counterbored in timber joints, the expert uses a combination of a machine wood drill and a shell drill countersink. But what if all counterbores shall have exactly the same depth?
Drilling and countersinking become increasingly significant. In practice, the expert performs two operations at once: he bores in a wooden plate as well as in the substructure in order to bolt both workpieces together by using a screw connection. This allows the screw head of a countersunk head screw to be recessed and tightened flush with the surface of the upper workpiece. This is typically applied to terrace constructions.
To handle this application in one operation, there are wood drill/countersink combinations (FAMAG series 3573 with cylindrical shank or series 3572 with bit shank) in all popular sizes available. In this case the shell drill countersinks (series 2100) are fixed on the machine wood drills by using an Allen head screw. The hexagonal wrench is of course inclusive.

But what if a whole range of countersinks shall be fabricated on a visible area and all countersinks shall have exactly the same depth?
As a novelty, we present a special depth adjusting collar which can be put on all combinations of drills/countersinks (up to a drill diameter of max. 7 mm). This depth adjusting collar can also be fixed easily on the shell drill countersink by using an Allen head screw. For adjusting the depth of the countersink, let the countersink loom out of the depth adjusting collar with the desired depth and fix the depth collar with the hexagon wrench on the countersink: ready!

Besides the single sets of the drill/countersink-combinations, there are also two sets in wooden boxes available. Both of them include the diameters 3, 4, 5 and 6mm, the fitting shell drill countersink of the series 2100 and an Allen head screw.
In the classic set no. 3574.504 there are CV-machine wood drills with cylindrical shank. In the new set no. 3572.504 you find HSS-drills with a bit shank. Both sets in the wooden boxes are adapted, so that you now can find a depth adjusting collar for the countersinks in every set.
And everything for the same price as before!
