Cylinder Boring bit Sets 8 pcs. in wooden boxes
The classic sets of cylinder boring bits in wooden boxes include generally the diameters 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 mm. But for drilling a hole e.g. for a tea light, you need the diameter 40 mm. There are many other applications for which you also need bigger diameters.
Professional handcrafters use the sets of 5 cylinder boring bits every day. These can be traditional forstner bits, WS-Bormax? or high quality cylinder boring bits which are carbide tipped. Unfortunately carbide tipped tools are very shock-sensitive. So these high quality tools shouldn't be together with hammers and grippers in one toolbox because they can get damages on their carbide edges even of the smallest shock.
The most popular sizes of our drills are available in nice and very robust wooden boxes. In these boxes every drill has its own place and the inner parts are constructed to not let the drills smash together. On this way, a durable and secure depository is warranted which is appreciated by many handcrafters.
A lot of our customers had the desire to buy sets in wooden boxes which include also big diameters.
So you can find now in our product range sets of 8 pieces in wooden boxes. Those include the drills with an overall length of 90 mm and the diameters 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50mm.

Best Overall: In the most cost-saving set you can find the traditional forstner bits of series 1630. These drills are optimally appropriate for drillings in soft wood and glued wood. By the way: These drills came first in an independent benchmark test in the USA!

Bormax® For all professionals who not only drill in soft wood, we recommend the WS- Bormax®. These drills have the same good guidance characteristics that forstner bits have but are so created that they don't have a closed periphery edge which brings the attrition on the surface of the material. The Bormax® has milled slots on his lagging which divides the periphery edge in several cutting sprockets so that there occurs nearly no attrition and no heat while boring. Consequently these drills are adequate for borings in European hard wood und many derived timber products.

Carbide tipped Bormax³ The first drill to bore durable and freehand in coated chip trays, European and exotic hard wood. But that's not enough. This drill fabricates similarly brilliant holes in soft wood, glued wood and medium density fibreboards.
Quasi the all-rounder for all-rounders.
The TCT-Bormax³ has a high quality carbide tipping on its main cutting edges, center point and taper taps. The guidance characteristics are as brilliant as those of forstner bits and the abrasion resistance is the same as the reliable carbide tipped cylinder boring bits have. But carbide tipped cylinder boring bits are not adequate for freehand drilling because of their moderate guidance characteristics.
By the way the superior TCT-Bormax³ costs the same as the carbide tipped cylinder boring bits. Once you have tried the TCT-Bormax³, you will not like something else anymore! |
