Drill Bits HSS extra long
Boreholes in exotic hardwoods are always difficult to handle! But when the drill depth is extra deep, high standards to the wood drills occur – that separates the wheat from the chaff. For this operation we offer extra long drills in HSS-G high-quality. The drills are equipped with a special twist and are grinded helix.

The brad point drill bits of the FAMAG series 1599 are actually one of the highest quality HSS drills for wood working. The pregrounded twists have a special geometry and transport even wet softwood-shavings out of deep boreholes. Not only in softwood you will make precise and clean boreholes with these tools but also in European and exotic hardwood, coated and uncoated chip trays.
In addition to the well-known lengths 150mm and 250mm we now offer as novelty the lengths 315mm and 400mm.
The version of length 250, 315 and 400mm are available as machine wood drills (series 1599) but also as twist drills (series 2599) with a 135° envelope of cone polished section.
For woodworking we recommend a rotation speed between 2.500 – 4.000 min-1 in European hardwood. Small diameters like 3 and 4mm with long usable lengths should be rotated with articulately less speed and should not be used in a hand drill because of the risk of breakage. |
