The problem of all professionals:

Drilling with an approach angle fewer than 90 the usual machine drill is unsuitable because the brad point is too short for a professional bore in an inclined approach angle. A solution provides the drill for the construction of staircases with a long brad point. But this tool is very expensive and the brad point does not have a cutting execution. Furthermore a regrinding is difficult. Hereby a professional drill in hardwood is disadvantageous.

The solution: FAMAG Staketen-Bormax^®

As novelty FAMAG presents the Staketen-Bormax^®. It’s a Bormax^® which have a changeable brad point. Alternatively it can be attached a brad point or a centre drill. The mounted centre drill is 20 mm offset of the Bormax^®. With this long guidance a “freehand drilling” like at a staircase construction in any approach angle is possible. By means of the good drilling characteristics of the Bormax^® a drill in hardwood and softwood is without any problem possible. To regrind the drill you remove the brad point and then the act is just easy as with the traditional Bormax^®. For a traditional use the included brad point can be introduced. Then the Staketen-Bormax^® has the same good characteristics like the conventional Bormax^®.

The Staketen-Bormax^® is deliverable in the diameters: 15, 16, 18, 20 , 22, 25, 30, and 35mm. Beside these diameters we offer two sets in wood boxes. Included in the set are the drills with respectively a brad point, a first bit, a hexagon key and a ejector drift. Set 1 includes the diameters 15, 20, 25, 30, 35mm of a classical set. Set 2 is developed for the staircase construction and contains the drills 16, 18, 20, 22, 25mm.
